Our summer in Kefalonia

In the summer of 2024 we spent a few magical days on the island of Kefalonia - a place that combines tranquility, beauty and the feeling of being in the right place at the right time.

We checked in Svoronata - small and quiet village, ideal for family holidays. The apartments were among olive trees, with a garden and sea view, and there was a calmness around us that didn't rush anywhere. The evenings there smelled of summer and the mornings started with figs from the tree outside the entrance.

🛶 Yacht and blue without end

One of the most exciting days we spent in Samiwhere we rented a small yacht - and drove it ourselves! No captain, just us and the sea.
We set out from Sami and reached the shores of Ithaca, stopping at several pristine beaches around Kefalonia - sandy, rocky, with emerald water and a feeling of having discovered a secret corner of the world.
We had lunch on board, swam, talked, watched the sea and just were together. It was one of those days that you don't take many pictures because you're too busy living them.

🌊 The blue of Myrtos and more beaches

Of course, we did not miss Myrtos beach - perhaps the most famous in Kefalonia. The cliffs, the high vantage point above the beach and the amazing hike down make it a real experience.
But besides Myrtos, we also discovered a few more peaceful, smaller, but equally magical beaches - the ones you find along the way when you're not in a hurry.

🪨 The cave in Sami

Near the place where we started with the boat, there is also Melisani Cave - a place that looks like it was painted. With a crystal clear lake at the heart of the cave and a hole in the ceiling through which a ray of sunlight penetrates, it's one of those places that makes you go silent with admiration. We boarded a boat and toured the lake inside - silence, chill and a blue you can't describe.

🚶‍♀️ Walk from Argostoli

One afternoon we decided to go to Argostoli - the capital of the island. The town is lively but not intrusive. We walked along the promenade, watched the boats and ate ice cream. We even managed to see turtles by the Drapano Bridge, the town's quiet attraction. The shops, small squares and cafes give the feeling that you can just sit and watch life.

📌 A little more...

Kefalonia is one of those places that shine not with luxury, but with memories.
This trip wasn't a "trip" - it was summer. It was our summer.
And while we haven't visited everything the island has to offer, we've retained everything that matters.

📝 If you're ever wondering where to escape for a few days with the sea, figs, boats and stars - book Kefalonia.
